VfL Bochum pulled off a remarkable comeback to secure a dramatic 3-3 draw against RB Leipzig in a thrilling Bundesliga Round 18 clash at Vonovia Ruhrstadion.
Leipzig appeared to be cruising to victory after a dominant first-half performance. Willi Orbán opened the scoring in the 10th minute, followed by Antonio Nusa’s stunning long-range strike three minutes later. Christoph Baumgartner added a third in the 21st minute, leaving Bochum trailing 3-0 at halftime.
But Dutch-Ghanaian striker Myron Boadu turned the game on its head with a heroic second-half display. He reignited Bochum’s hopes in the 48th minute, slotting home after a clever assist from Gerrit Holtmann. Fleetwood Town continued their fine form with an impressive 2-0 win over Salford City in Round 27 of League Two at The Peninsula Stadium on Saturday.
The visitors got off to a flying start, with Ronan Coughlan finding the back of the net in just the second minute. The forward capitalized on a well-executed set piece by Finley Potter, giving Fleetwood an early advantage. Moments later, Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu doubled the lead with a towering header in the 11th minute. Rising above the Salford defense, the English-Ghanaian defender connected perfectly with Phoenix Patterson’s corner, sending the ball into the top-right corner. The goal marked Sarpong-Wiredu’s second of the season in his 17th league outing.
Despite dominating possession with 68%, Salford City struggled to break through Fleetwood’s disciplined defense. Although the hosts managed 11 shots, none were truly threatening. Fleetwood, on the other hand, remained sharp on the counter and resolute at the back.
