GFA Reshapes Black Stars Leadership After AFCON Disappointment
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to announce a revamped management committee for the Black Stars, aiming to steer the team towards future success following recent setbacks.
This restructuring comes in the aftermath of Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco and a disappointing group-stage exit at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast—the second consecutive early exit for the national team.
To revive the Black Stars’ fortunes, the GFA has dissolved the previous management team and is finalizing a new committee. Dr. Randy Abbey, who was introduced as part of earlier adjustments, will serve as Chairman of the new group. Joining him are former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, renowned for his leadership on and off the pitch, FC Samartex president Dr. Richard Duah Nsenkyire, and Greater Accra Regional Football Association chairman Samuel Aboabire.
The GFA is also considering appointing a technical director to support head coach Otto Addo. This move aims to strengthen the team’s preparations for the resumption of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March, where Ghana will face Chad and Madagascar.
With fresh leadership and strategic planning, the Black Stars are eager to bounce back, restore confidence, and reignite the passion of Ghanaian football fans.

FF Jaro has officially welcomed Dutch-Ghanaian defender Robin Polley, a versatile right-back, to their squad on a contract that runs through 2025. The 26-year-old, who has battled injuries and challenges throughout his career, sees this move as the perfect opportunity to rebuild and thrive in a focused football environment.
Polley, born in the Netherlands to Ghanaian parents, comes from a lineage of football excellence. His father, a former professional player, made over 150 appearances in the Dutch and Belgian top leagues, paving the way for Robin’s passion for the sport. The young Polley began his football education at Feyenoord’s renowned academy before moving to ADO Den Haag in 2018, where he gained top-flight experience in the Eredivisie.

Dutch-Ghanaian striker Myron Boadu is facing a challenging road back to VfL Bochum’s starting lineup following a lengthy recovery from pubic bone inflammation that sidelined him for nearly two months.
