Ghanaian international Andre Ayew has expressed his relief and optimism after netting his first goal of the season in Le Havre’s 5-1 defeat to Olympique Marseille at the Orange Vélodrome. The Black Stars captain, who played 88 minutes, scored the lone consolation goal for his side in a tough outing against the French giants.
Marseille dominated the match, overwhelming Le Havre with clinical precision. Despite the heavy loss, Ayew managed to shine with glimpses of quality, including his well-taken goal.

Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has backed Ghanaian international Brandon Thomas-Asante following their 2-1 defeat to Norwich City in the English Championship. Despite missing a crucial scoring opportunity in the second half, the forward received no criticism from his manager, who focused on the team’s overall performance.

His MLS journey includes stints with LA Galaxy, D.C. United, Columbus Crew, and New England Revolution. Since joining the Revolution as a free agent in 2021, Boateng has featured in 89 matches (36 starts), tallying eight goals and 12 assists.
Notably, Boateng played a crucial role in New England’s 2021 Supporters’ Shield-winning campaign, contributing two goals and four assists. He was also a key part of Columbus Crew’s 2020 MLS Cup-winning side.

Former Marseille Star Reflects on Warm Reception Despite Le Havre’s Defeat
Andre Ayew, the experienced Ghanaian midfielder, shared an emotional moment with Olympique Marseille fans during his return to the Stade Velodrome. Playing for Le Havre in a challenging Ligue 1 fixture, Ayew not only faced his boyhood club but also found the back of the net against them. Out of respect for the club that shaped his career, he chose not to celebrate his goal.
