Dutch international and Corinthians forward Memphis Depay has brought excitement to the streets of Nima, a vibrant community in Accra, Ghana. During his time in Ghana, Depay has been immersing himself in local culture. The pair were spotted enjoying amateur boxing matches, a nod to the sporting spirit of the area.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is nearing a crucial decision regarding the future of the Black Stars’ technical team after the national team’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Speaking in an interview with Peace FM, GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum disclosed that extensive consultations are ongoing, involving key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Youth and Sports. These discussions are expected to conclude soon, paving the way for an official announcement.
“These processes take time, especially when the government is involved,” Asante Twum stated. “The Executive Council has held several meetings already, with another scheduled for next week to finalize the issue. I urge Ghanaians to remain patient as we work toward the best outcome for the Black Stars.”
He further dismissed rumors circulating in the media, clarifying that no official decision has been made. “Speculations out there are just personal opinions. Council members, like everyone else, are disappointed with the team’s failure to qualify. This is why the matter has been referred to the Ministry for additional input to ensure a thorough and thoughtful decision is made.”
The GFA has assured fans that the decision will reflect both the lessons learned from the team’s recent shortcomings and the need to chart a better course for the future of Ghanaian football.

Accra, Ghana – The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has moved to address growing concerns from football clubs regarding the ownership and management of buses provided to them. This comes in the wake of reports of a breakdown involving Young Apostles FC’s team bus, sparking questions about the process of transferring legal ownership to the clubs.
Speaking on Peace FM, GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum clarified the association’s stance and outlined steps being taken to resolve the matter. He stressed the importance of ensuring all buses are legally registered under the respective clubs to avoid complications, particularly with insurance claims.
“It is not possible to drive a vehicle that is not in your name. If there’s an issue and you need to claim insurance, how do you do that?” Asante Twum questioned, highlighting the necessity of proper documentation.
He revealed that the GFA Competitions Department has invited all clubs with concerns to formally present their issues for resolution. The department is currently facilitating the process of transferring ownership of the buses from the GFA to the clubs.
“As far as I know, some clubs have already responded to the Competitions Department’s call. The process of changing ownership is ongoing to ensure that the buses currently registered in the FA’s name are transferred to the clubs. I haven’t heard anything specific about the Young Apostles FC situation, but the department is actively engaging the clubs to address every concern.”
The GFA’s initiative underscores its commitment to resolving disputes and fostering transparency in its dealings with member clubs.

Greenville Triumph SC has made their first major move of the offseason by signing Ghanaian forward Ropapa Mensah for the 2025 campaign, pending league and federation approval.
At just 27 years old, Mensah brings a wealth of experience and a reputation as a dependable striker with a decade-long professional career. His journey includes impressive stints in the USL Championship with Sporting Kansas City II and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, as well as a season in the Egyptian Premier League with Port Fouad SC.
Most recently, Mensah showcased his offensive prowess with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC, where he netted 21 goals across two standout seasons. Known for his clutch performances, Mensah has 13 game-winning goals to his name, cementing his reputation as a high-impact player.
The 2024 season was particularly memorable for Mensah, as he emerged as one of USL League One’s top talents. He ranked fourth in goals (9), fourth in penalty conversions (2), and ninth in shots on target per 90 minutes (1.20). His stellar form earned him the USL League One Player of the Month award in April 2024, during which he tallied five goal involvements.
Mensah joins Greenville’s roster as the first new signing ahead of the 2025 season, adding firepower to an attack that will also feature nine returning players.
