Brøndby IF booked their spot in the DBU Pokalen semi-finals after a thrilling 4-2 victory over AGF in the second leg of their quarter-final clash on Sunday, powered by a stellar performance from Danish-born Ghanaian midfielder Noah Nartey.
The encounter kicked off with Brøndby looking sharp and determined, and they wasted no time in asserting dominance. Veteran Daniel Wass set the tone in the 11th minute with a well-taken penalty, giving Brøndby an early advantage. On the half-hour mark, Mathias Kvistgaarden doubled their lead, finishing neatly from a Nicolai Vallys assist.
Brøndby carried their momentum into the second half, and it was Nartey’s creativity that once again made the difference. In the 57th minute, Nicolai Vallys capitalized on a smooth setup from Nartey to add Brøndby’s third. Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman was crowned CAF Men’s Player of the Year following a brilliant season with Atalanta and the Super Eagles. Lookman’s triumph marked back-to-back wins for Nigeria after Victor Osimhen’s success last year, a first for the country since Nwankwo Kanu (1996) and Victor Ikpeba (1997).
Zambian forward Barbra Banda clinched the CAF Women’s Player of the Year award, thanks to her phenomenal performances in the U.S. National Women’s Soccer League. Banda led Orlando Pride to the league title and made history with her record-breaking third Olympic hat-trick, cementing her place as one of Africa’s all-time greats.

Ghanaian defender Maxwell Woledzi has expressed his joy after playing a key role in Fredrikstad FK’s historic triumph in the Norwegian Cup, their first title in 18 years.
The 22-year-old centre-back was instrumental as Fredrikstad FK edged out Molde in a dramatic final at the Ullevaal Stadion. After a goalless draw in regular time, the match was decided through a tense penalty shootout, with Fredrikstad emerging victorious 5-4.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Woledzi shared his elation:
