Ghana’s Rose Yeboah concluded her first-ever women’s high jump competition with dignity after failing in her third attempt to clear 1.92 meters, thus not advancing to the finals.
Competing on the grandest stage at a packed stadium, Yeboah successfully jumped 1.88 meters but fell short of the 1.92-meter standard required to move on to the next height of 1.95 meters, missing out on the final 12 athletes to progress to the finals.
Rose joined Poland’s Zodzik Maria and Greece’s Dosi Panagiota, who were also excluded from advancing.
She is the second Ghanaian athlete to be edged out of their respective event, following Harry Stacey’s seventh-place finish in the men’s 100m freestyle event on Tuesday at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
