German-born Ghanaian defender Kofi Schulz has officially signed with Iranian club Mes Rafsanjan.
The 35-year-old left-back joins the team after a successful two-and-a-half-year stint at Austrian Bundesliga side WSG Tirol, where he made 30 appearances last season. With his contract at Tirol expiring in June, Schulz is set to embark on a new chapter in Iran.
Mes Rafsanjan, which finished tenth in the Iranian Pro League last season, announced the signing on their official media channels. They noted, “The German defender of Tirol club, who was in the Austrian league last season, has joined Mes Rafsanjan. Experienced and high-ranking German defender Kofi Yeboah Schulz joined the orange team with the opinion of Navidkia and signed a contract for one season.”
