Defending champions, the Black Challenge of Ghana, have asserted their dominance at the ongoing African Amputee Football Competition in Egypt.
In their second group match of the African Amputee Football Cup of Nations (AAFCON) held in Cairo, Ghana delivered a stellar performance, securing a commanding 5-0 victory over Algeria.
The scoring spree began with Yusif finding the net in the 7th minute, followed quickly by Hamza in the 10th minute. Captain Opencil further extended the lead with a goal in the 18th minute, leading to a timeout in the 24th minute.
Maestro Mubarak capitalized on the momentum just before halftime, scoring in the 25th minute. In the second half, Mubarak demonstrated his prowess once again with a goal in the 42nd minute, and Timothy sealed the win with a final goal in the 49th minute.
Mubarak’s exceptional performance earned him the Man of the Match title for the second time. He expressed that the MVP Award has inspired him to do more for his country and urged Ghanaians to pray for the team as they aim to defend the cup and secure a spot in the World Cup.

Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman concluded his FC Nordsjaelland career on a high note, scoring in his final game against FC Midtjylland in a thrilling match at Right to Dream Park.
The 19-year-old opened the scoring early, helping Nordsjaelland to a commanding three-goal lead within the first 35 minutes. However, the hosts ultimately conceded their advantage, resulting in a 3-3 draw on Monday, May 20.
After the match, Osman expressed his gratitude to the club with a message on his Instagram Story: “Thank you, Nordsjaelland.”
This summer, Osman will move to England to begin pre-season with his new club, Brighton and Hove Albion, following a deal agreed upon during the winter transfer window.
A graduate of the Right to Dream Academy, Osman finished the season impressively with five goals and three assists in his last ten games. He is also expected to be included in Ghana coach Otto Addo’s squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic in June.
Osman made his debut for Ghana in March during a friendly against Nigeria in Morocco.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ghana’s Parliament, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have been selected to compete in the inaugural Democracy Cup. This eagerly awaited match is scheduled for Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The event will kick off with a thrilling curtain raiser, where Members of Parliament will face off against former Black Stars players.
In an announcement made by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, it was revealed that the winner of the Hearts vs. Kotoko match will earn the opportunity to play against DC United in Washington. This unique opportunity is a testament to Parliament’s notable achievements.
Rt. Hon. Bagbin also explained that the Democracy Cup was proposed by supportive partners and stakeholders to honor the 30th anniversary of the 1992 constitution and the Parliament of the Fourth Republic. “Due to the good works of this parliament, a few partners and stakeholders decided to support our work and proposed the establishment of what they refer to as the Democracy Cup, which would spice up the celebration of our 30th anniversary of the 1992 constitution and this parliament of the Fourth Republic,” Rt. Hon. Bagbin stated.
This exciting addition will undoubtedly enhance the festivities and highlight Parliament’s significant contributions over the past three decades.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is set to host a four-day Club Licensing Regional Workshop at the Kempinski Hotel, Gold Coast City Accra, from Monday, May 20 to Thursday, May 24, 2024.
The workshop will see participation from 15 Member Associations, including hosts Ghana, as well as Egypt, Nigeria, Eritrea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Eswatini, Lesotho, Botswana, Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, and Sao Tome and Principe. Additionally, clubs from the Ghana Premier League, the Division One League, and the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League will be represented.
This event in Accra marks the final phase of the Club Licensing Regional Workshops across Africa, following previous sessions in Mauritania, Algeria, and Ethiopia. The primary objectives are to provide updates on the Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP) usage for the Club Licensing procedure and to review the implementation status of the Club Licensing system in national competitions of the Member Associations.
The workshop offers a valuable platform for Member Associations to exchange best practices, discuss implementation methods, share successes and challenges, and set future goals for the club licensing system.
Notable attendees include the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, Club Licensing Committee Chairman Dr. Kwame Baah Nuakoh and his committee members, former CAF Deputy General Secretary Anthony Baffoe, among other distinguished guests. The workshop is supervised by Muhammed Sidat, CAF’s Head of Professional Football.

Danish club FC Nordsjaelland has expressed a heartfelt farewell to Ghanaian forward Ibrahim Osman as he prepares to join Brighton and Hove Albion in England.
The 19-year-old, who agreed to join the Seagulls during the winter transfer window, remained with Nordsjaelland to complete the season with the Wild Tigers.
Ahead of their final game against Midtjylland, the club praised Osman’s rapid rise from the Right to Dream Academy to European football.
“Osman is another success story from our remarkable academy. He needed only a few U19 games to step into the Superliga and make an immediate impact. Just over 50 games later, he has become a key figure in the team and the 3F Super League, ready to transition to the world’s biggest league after this season,” Nordsjaelland stated on their official website.
“We give immense credit to Osman and the many coaches and staff at both FCN and Right to Dream in Ghana who have supported his incredible development. Despite securing his Premier League move in the winter, he remained motivated and dedicated, continuing to improve and deliver spectacular goals and performances that draw fans to the stadium. It has been a great pleasure to have him at FCN, and we eagerly anticipate following his journey.”
Osman is one of four players departing the club at the end of the current campaign.
