In addition to his role at the GFA, Maraby serves as a director on the board of Orphanage Africa, a philanthropic NGO. His multifaceted expertise underscores a holistic approach to sports management, encompassing grassroots development, club management, and strategic marketing.
Under his leadership as Marketing Director, the GFA’s revenue skyrocketed from Ë2.3m in 2019 to Ë23.1m in 2022, accompanied by a substantial increase in corporate sponsorships and partnerships.

Steve Parish, chairman of Crystal Palace, has praised Jeffrey Schlupp, alongside teammates Will Hughes and Joel Ward, for extending their contracts with the club.
Parish underscored their significance both on and off the field, noting their role in upholding the club’s standards and ethos.
He expressed his satisfaction with their decision to remain at the club, highlighting their contributions to the team’s positive progression under manager Oliver Glasner.
Parish commented, “In addition to their pivotal roles on the pitch, Will, Jeff, and Joel are natural leaders in the dressing room, embodying the Crystal Palace ethos and fostering a culture of excellence at the training ground. Wilson Arthur, Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, has connected the depreciation of the cedi against the dollar to the prevalence of foreign sports coverage in Ghanaian media.
Currently, the cedi’s value has declined, with approximately 15 Ghana cedis needed to exchange for 1 dollar.
Arthur expressed his concern that over 75% of sports content in local media is focused on European football, which he believes negatively impacts the local economy.
During an interview on Oyerepa FM, Arthur emphasized the importance of shifting the focus towards promoting local sports to address this issue.
“The dominance of foreign sports content on our local media, exceeding 75%, is a significant factor contributing to the poor performance of the cedi against the dollar, and the media plays a substantial role in this,” remarked Arthur.
Despite these economic challenges, Arthur is optimistic about the upcoming FA Cup semi-final matches. The fixtures will feature holders Dreams FC against Bofoakwa Tano, as well as Legon Cities facing Nsoatreman FC.
Both games are set to take place at the WAFA Park in Sogakope, and Arthur is hopeful for a successful event.

In a poignant demonstration of solidarity and compassion, Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), paid his respects to the late Black Stars fitness trainer, Ricky Roy Romeo, by signing a book of condolences on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
Accompanied by members of the football community, President Okraku attended the one-week commemoration ceremony for Ricky Roy Romeo in Accra.
The delegation included various football administrators such as GFA Executive Council member Samuel Aboabire, Dreams FC President Jiji Mohammed Alifoe, GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum, Black Stars physiotherapist Samuel Kwame Ankomah, and Michael Osekre, President of Vision FC, where Ricky served as a club official.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the GFA Director of Communications conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and reaffirmed the GFA’s commitment to collaborating closely with them to ensure Ricky receives a dignified funeral.
The Book of Condolences, adorned with messages from friends and members of the football community, serves as a poignant tribute to the lasting impact Ricky had on all who knew him.
The final funeral rites are scheduled to take place at Burma Camp during the weekend of June 14-16, 2024.
