“Medeama is going all out. This game means a lot to us. We did it in 2015 against TP Mazembe at Essipong, so repeating it won’t be difficult. This Friday, we will shock Ghanaians by defeating Al Ahly and secure qualification in Algeria,” Parker declared.
Furthermore, Parker revealed a substantial reward package assembled to motivate the players to strive for victory against the Egyptian club. While refraining from predicting a win, he expressed confidence in achieving it through positive means and called for the support of all Ghanaians.
“I have a very big package for the players if they win on Friday, I can’t disclose the bonus, but it’s bigger than what the FA proposed to the Black Stars, and I know they (the players) need more, and this boosts my confidence in winning against Al Ahly,” Parker added.

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria are intensifying their preparations for the 2023 All Africa Games, where they are set to face tough competition from Senegal, Tunisia, Uganda, and South Sudan in Group B. Under the guidance of head coach Ladan Bosso, known for leading the team to the quarterfinals of the FIFA U20 World Cup last year, the squad is undergoing rigorous training at their camp in Abuja.
Departing for Ghana on March 1, 2024, the Flying Eagles aim to make a mark in Accra, one of the host cities for the African Games. With a strategic approach to squad selection, Bosso revealed the inclusion of six players from the FIFA U20 World Cup, six from the Golden Eaglets led by Nduka Ugbade, and six from the Nigeria Leagues, emphasizing a balance between experience and talent development.
The 2023 All African Games will feature nine teams, including hosts Ghana, Benin, Congo, Gambia, Nigeria, Senegal, Tunisia, South Sudan, and Uganda. The tournament is divided into two groups, with Nigeria placed in Group B alongside Senegal, Tunisia, Uganda, and South Sudan.
In the group stage, the Flying Eagles will kick off their campaign against Uganda on March 8, followed by matches against South Sudan on March 10, Senegal on March 12, and Tunisia on March 14. Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
Despite Nigeria’s storied football history, they currently hold only one football gold medal at the All Africa Games.
