Premier and Division One League clubs are set to gain from the completion of the betPawa pitch at Prampram. In response to the infrastructure shortfall in the Greater Accra region, the Ghana Football Association plans to designate the pitch as a League center, as revealed by President Simeon-Okraku during the MEET THE PRESS series in Kumasi.
Currently, three top-tier clubsâAccra Hearts of Oak, Accra Lions, and Accra Great Olympicsâuse the Accra Sports Stadium as their home ground, while five Division One clubsâGolden Kicks, Attram De Visser, Nania FC, Accra Athletic, and Koforidua Semper FIâplay at the Tema Park.
We are continuing our investment in the construction of the betPawa pitch; when completed, we will make it available to our League clubs for their matches in Prampram,ââ President Simeon-Okraku told the media in Kumasi.
ââAs of now, there are no League centers in Greater Accra, and we are fully committed to addressing that issue. Soon, the facility will be ready for use by clubs participating in both the Premier League and the Division One League,ââ he added.
The betPawa Park is among the new projects undertaken by the Ghana Football Association at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence, following our partnership with betPawa as the headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League.
