Rangers’ recent signing, Mohamed Diomande, shared the touching story behind his early connection with the club’s iconic light blue jersey. In a heartwarming revelation, the 22-year-old Ivorian midfielder explained that his affinity for Rangers began in Ghana when a family member bought him the Rangers shirt during his school days. The unveiling video featured a snapshot of Diomande as a young schoolboy proudly sporting the Light Blues jersey, marking the inception of his love affair with the club.
Recalling the moment, Diomande expressed his joy, saying, “When I got to Ghana, he bought the shirt for me, and that’s when I started to know about Rangers, and my favorite color was blue, so I was really happy about the shirt.” Discovered during the 2008/09 title-winning season by a scout in Ghana, Diomande’s journey to Rangers took shape as he progressed through the prestigious Right to Dream Academy after relocating from his home in the Ivory Coast.
Having recently been presented to the Ibrox crowd during half-time in the 3-0 victory over Livingston, Diomande shared his exhilaration about the warm reception from the fans. Expressing gratitude, he stated, “I can’t wait to get started. The lads have already done a good job, and I am just looking forward to doing something more for them and for the fans.” He described the experience as unparalleled and emphasized his readiness to contribute to the team’s success.
As he settles into life at Rangers, Diomande reflected on the support he has received, stating, “I remember when I came into the dressing room I was shy, but then I said hello to everybody, and they were really nice to me, so I am happy to be around them.” The midfielder, now part of Rangers’ Europa League squad, expressed his eagerness to play and contribute to the club’s ambitions. Diomande’s admiration for Rangers since childhood, coupled with the warm welcome he received, fuels his determination to make a meaningful impact and bring success to the ambitious club.

The Competitions Department of the Ghana Football Association has released an updated calendar for the second round of the 2023/24 Malta Guinness Premier League.
Matchweeks 10 and 11, scheduled for the weekends of February 16-19 and 23-26, 2024, will proceed as originally planned without any changes.
However, Matchweeks 12 and 18 will undergo significant date modifications to accommodate the participation of the Black Princesses in the 13th African Games.
Consequently, the season’s final match, initially set for the weekend of May 17-18, 2024, will now take place from May 31 to June 3, 2024.

The fixtures for the second round of the 2023/24 Access Bank Division One League have undergone updates. In the revised schedule, Matchweek 16 is slated to take place from March 8-11, 2024.
Additionally, Week 17 has been rescheduled as midweek matches, set to unfold from March 12-14, 2024, at various match venues. These adjustments are made in consideration of the Independence Day celebrations on March 6, 2024, taking place at the district level in proximity to some DOL match venues.
It’s important to note that the Access Bank Division One League is still set to conclude on June 7-10, 2024, as initially planned. Above are the updated match dates:

These adjustments are necessary to accommodate the involvement of the Black Princesses in the 13th All African Games scheduled for Accra from March 8-23, 2024.
While the round of 16 is still set for March 1-4, 2024, the quarter-final date has been shifted to April 29 to May 3, 2024. The semi-final has been rescheduled to May 3, 2024, and the final to the weekend of June 7-10.
