Alhaji Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe, a two-time chairman of Gombe United Football Club, expresses skepticism about the Super Eagles deserving their place in the AFCON semifinals.
Gara Gombe, not entirely impressed with the nature of the Super Eagles’ victories, points out that the team has relied on narrow 1-0 wins and suggests that luck has played a significant role. He criticizes the team’s quality in midfield and coordination in attack, highlighting the underutilization of Victor Osimhen, the reigning African Footballer of the Year.
