Chukwueze will almost certainly be in action from the first minute on January 2nd against Cagliari as it gives Stefano Pioli a chance to rest Christian Pulisic on the right wing.
There is little risk involved for Milan in doing this as Chukwueze is more than capable of doing what is needed in that game and the day after, he will depart to link up with the Nigeria national team as they prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations.
He is one of two Milan players who will be departing for the tournament, as Ismael Bennacer has accepted the call-up from Algeria.
It was not certain that he would be called up by Algeria he has been out injured for many months and has only made two appearances since his return.
He will not have any role to play against Cagliari because the Algerian FA have decided to convene all of their play

Bundesliga Team of the Month: Bayer Leverkusen striker Boniface named in ideal XI
Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has been named in Whoscored.com’s Bundesliga Team of the Month for December.
He joins former Manchester City forward Leroy Sané who recorded two assists for Bayern Munich and Tottenham legend Harry Kane who had three goals for the Bavarians in the team.
Boniface was in spectacular form in December having recorded five-goal involvements in four games( 3 goals, 2 assists) to help Bayer Leverkusen end the year as Bundesliga table toppers.
The Nigeria international wasn’t the only player from Xabi Alonso’s side that made the team with Germany international Florian Wirtz also being recognized for his contribution having registered 2 goals and two assists in four games.
Union Berlin, Bayer Munich, and Bayer Leverkusen have the joint-most representatives with 2 players apiece.

“I am not watching them” – Vincent Enyeama reveals he knows nothing about Super Eagles goalkeeping struggles
Vincent Enyeama retired from International duties with the Super Eagles in 2015 after falling out with the Nigerian Football Federation over safety issues.
Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, is set to team up with the players and staff of Jose Peserio’s team in preparation for the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast,
Enyeama, 41, featured in over a century of games for the Nigerian National team, but shockingly left the team in 2015, announcing his retirement when he was 33 years old.
He was previously quoted, as saying he left the team because he felt he was treated poorly and without respect. He also added that since his exit, he put up a block between himself and the Super Eagles, and hasn’t been watching their games.
