Ghanaian midfielder Salis Abdul Samed has been relegated to the reserve team of RC Lens. The 24-year-old, who joined the French Ligue 1 side in 2022, is now training with the reserves alongside teammate Stijn Spierings.
Head coach Will Still made the decision to streamline the squad due to limited space and is reportedly planning to offload Abdul Samed before the transfer window closes. Coach Still stated, “For the well-being of the group and the training sessions, it was necessary to trim the group a little,” as reported by Foot Mercato.
This move is part of RC Lens’ broader strategy to adjust their squad dynamics and accommodate potential new signings. Abdul Samed, who has made 72 appearances and contributed one goal and one assist since his arrival, is reportedly linked with a transfer to Montpellier. Under contract with RC Lens until June 2028, his market value is estimated at around ÂŁ8 million, according to Transfermarkt
