From Campus Glory to Global Stage: UG Corporate Football League to Represent Ghana in Morocco
In a thrilling development that blends corporate pride with sporting ambition, a team from the University of Ghana Corporate Football League is set to represent Ghana at the upcoming World Corporate Championship in Morocco.
The exciting announcement was made on Monday by Yaw Sakyi Afari, Head of RITE Sports Services, during a press briefing ahead of the 2025 Grand Finale of the league. The final showdown, which will cap off a fiercely competitive 19-week season, is scheduled for Friday, July 25, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Mr. Afari didn’t hide his pride as he addressed the media:
> “This is a proud moment for corporate football in Ghana. The professionalism, commitment, and skill we’ve witnessed this season have earned us the chance to compete with the best in the world.”
The news has not only electrified the upcoming final but also placed a global spotlight on Ghana’s corporate football community.
Yakub Alfa Suleiman, Director of Operations at Corporate Sports Ghana, emphasized the prestige of the tournament:
> “The World Corporate Championship brings together top corporate teams from across the globe. We believe our team has what it takes to leave a lasting impression in Morocco.”
As anticipation builds towards Friday’s grand finale, players now have more than just a local title to chase—they’re playing for a chance to carry Ghana’s flag onto the international stage. What began as an inter-office league has now grown into a potential symbol of national pride.
