First Sports Betting Event in Ghana to Promote Responsible Betting Among Youth
Sports betting has gained significant popularity among Ghanaian youth, turning into a widespread activity where predicting sports outcomes and placing wagers is common. With the rise of this trend, there is an increasing need for awareness about responsible betting practices to prevent addiction and manage risks.
To address this, Nkrataasem.com is organizing the first-ever Sports Betting event in Ghana, scheduled for Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly. The event aims to educate young bettors on the importance of responsible betting, risk management, and understanding betting strategies and odds.
The event will feature insights from experienced tipsters like Enokay69, LilMo GH, and Enock Smith, as well as guest speakers including Prof. E.K. Wallace, Noel Nutsugah, and Andy Kerm, who will share their expertise on sports betting. TV personality Natalia Andoh will host the event, bringing her background as a counseling psychologist and broadcast journalist to the discussion.
In an interview, Alex Kobina Stonne, CEO of Nkrataasem.com, emphasized the need to educate the youth on responsible betting, noting the alarming number of young people involved in the practice. He highlighted the government’s revenue generation through the 10 percent tax on betting winnings, stressing the importance of proper management of these funds for the country’s benefit.
This inaugural event aims to make a significant impact on betting enthusiasts and is planned to become an annual affair every August.
