Ghana’s Six WBO Africa Champions Making Waves in Boxing
Ghana currently celebrates six WBO Africa champions: Haruna Osumanu (Heavyweight), Jacob Laryea “Chorkor Fire” (Junior Middleweight), Faisal Abubakar “Poncho Power” (Super Lightweight), Sheriff Quaye “One Time” (Lightweight), John Laryea “Expensive” (Featherweight), and Daniel Gorsh “Emperor” (Bantamweight). Four of these champions are trained by Coach Carl Lokko at the Bronx Boxing Gym in Jamestown, which has been praised for its rigorous training and supportive environment.
