Sports Minister Kofi Adams Allocates $13m for Black Stars, Targets World Cup Final

Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has disclosed that the government has set aside $13 million for the Ghana national football team in preparation for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, expressing strong belief that the team can reach the tournament’s final.

In an interview with Sportsblog247.com hosted by Emmanuel Atanga, the minister explained that the budget was carefully structured based on the expectation that Ghana will progress far in the global competition.

According to him, the allocation demonstrates the government’s confidence in the potential of the Black Stars to compete at the highest level and make a deep run in the tournament.

“I budgeted $13 million for the Black Stars because I believe we will reach the World Cup final. If we don’t get there, we will return the rest of the money,” he stated.

Kofi Adams further noted that the funds are intended to support the team’s preparations, logistics, training camps, and participation throughout the competition, particularly if Ghana advances to the later stages.

His remarks have already sparked mixed reactions among football fans and sports analysts. While some supporters have welcomed the minister’s optimism and commitment to supporting the national team, others believe the focus should remain firmly on proper preparation and strong performances on the pitch.

The Black Stars remain one of Africa’s most prominent national teams and have produced memorable moments in World Cup history, including their remarkable run to the quarter-finals at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

With growing expectations ahead of the next global tournament, many supporters are hopeful that the combination of adequate investment, careful planning, and determination from the players can help Ghana achieve another historic performance on football’s biggest stage.
