Arteta Leaves Partey’s Availability for Man United Clash in Doubt
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey remains a doubt for the Gunners’ crucial Premier League showdown against Manchester United on Wednesday. Manager Mikel Arteta revealed in a press conference on Tuesday that the Ghanaian international’s fitness will be determined closer to kick-off.
Partey was sidelined during Arsenal’s 5-2 victory over West Ham United last weekend after suffering a muscle injury in the lead-up to the match. Despite his absence, Arsenal maintained their impressive form, but his potential return would provide a significant boost to the team.
Arteta also confirmed that Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino face late fitness tests, with their availability subject to further assessment.
“We have monitored and kept a few players away from certain activities,” Arteta said. “After that meeting, we will decide if everyone is fit and available and who will start.”
Partey has been a pivotal figure for Arsenal this season, scoring twice in 12 Premier League appearances and contributing to their strong campaign. The Gunners will be eager to have him back as they aim to strengthen their title challenge against a formidable United side.
