Ex-Super Eagles Striker Osaze Odemwingie Graduates from Professional Golfers Association School

Former Super Eagles striker Osaze Odemwingie has shared his passion for golf after recently graduating from the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) school, Sportblog247.com reports.

Odemwingie, one of Nigeria’s finest strikers, retired from football six years ago and has since transitioned into golf. Born to a Russian mother and a Nigerian father, Odemwingie chose to represent the Super Eagles, scoring eleven goals in 62 appearances between 2002 and 2014.

The 42-year-old had a prolific career, playing for clubs such as Bendel Insurance, Lille, West Brom, Cardiff City, Stoke City, Bristol City, and Rotherham before retiring in 2019.

Post-retirement, Odemwingie expressed intentions to return to school to earn a degree and obtain coaching badges, though little was mentioned about this pursuit until recently. A video surfaced on social media showing Odemwingie at his PGA school graduation, where he expressed his excitement about becoming a PGA graduate.

“It’s motivating to be around people who have the drive to get the PGA badge on their chest,” Odemwingie said. “It’s inherently motivating because they learn so many life skills that are beneficial even at my age.”

Following his graduation, Odemwingie now has the option to become a professional golfer or potentially venture into golf coaching.
