West Ham United winger Mohammed Kudus is on the road to recovery, according to an update from Chris Hughton, the manager of the Ghanaian national football team. Kudus, who missed Ghana’s opening African Cup of Nations match against Cape Verde due to a hamstring injury sustained in a Premier League clash with Arsenal, has returned to training.
While uncertainty remains about Kudus’ availability for the upcoming crucial encounter against Egypt on Thursday, Hughton acknowledged that the 23-year-old has participated in recent training sessions. In a statement quoted by the Daily Mail on Wednesday, Hughton stated, “We will continue to assess him. We have today and tomorrow morning to assess. He has trained the last few days, but we will assess him, as I say, today and tomorrow and make a decision tomorrow.”
As Ghana hopes to bounce back from their opening defeat, Kudus’ potential involvement would be a boost to the Black Stars, pending the final decision after further assessments.
