Reigning Ghana Premier League champions, FC Samartex, have claimed the Champion of Champions title after defeating Nsoatreman FC. The decisive moment came in the 70th minute when Emmanuel Mamah’s stunning header secured a 1-0 victory for the Timber Giants in a thrilling match held at the T&A Stadium in Tarkwa on August 31, 2024.
Both teams displayed top-notch football, with plenty of attacking flair, but struggled to find the back of the net until Mamah’s late heroics. His powerful header shattered the hopes of Nsoatreman FC, allowing Samartex to lift their first-ever Champion of Champions trophy.
The match, which served as a curtain-raiser for the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season, captivated the nearly full-capacity crowd with high-octane performances from both sides. As the season opener approaches on September 6, 2024, FC Samartex and Nsoatreman FC are preparing to represent Ghana in the CAF inter-club competitions, with Samartex set to face Raja Athletic Club in the Champions League and Nsoatreman FC taking on CS Constantine in the Confederation Cup.
