Mohammed Kudus Faces FA Charge for Violent Conduct After Tottenham Match

West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus has been charged with violent conduct by the FA following his actions during Saturday’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. The Ghana international is under investigation for “acting in an improper manner,” which could lead to a longer ban in addition to the initial punishment he received for his red card.

Kudus has already been handed a three-game suspension, keeping him out of action until after the next international break. His red card was upgraded by VAR from an initial yellow after he kicked out and shoved Spurs defender Micky van de Ven in the face during Tottenham’s 4-1 victory. The situation escalated further when Kudus pushed Pape Matar Sarr, leading to Richarlison falling to the ground after charging at Kudus amid the chaos involving several players.

The FA has confirmed that both clubs and Kudus have two days to respond to the charges, with statements expected regarding the conduct of both teams during the match. West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui acknowledged the incident but admitted he did not witness the altercations, expressing concern for both Kudus and the club.
