John Noble Backs Super Eagles to Make History at CHAN 2024

Veteran Nigerian goalkeeper, John Noble, has expressed unwavering optimism about the Super Eagles’ chances of making history by winning the African Nations Championship (CHAN) for the first time. Noble, a former Enyimba captain, is confident that the team has what it takes to overcome the challenges in their tough group and lift the trophy.

Speaking exclusively to Sportsblog247.com, Noble acknowledged the strength of Nigeria’s opponents in Group D, which includes defending champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo. Despite the group’s formidable nature, the 31-year-old believes it presents an opportunity for the Super Eagles to prove themselves.

“The group is tough, but that’s what you expect when you’re facing the best teams in Africa. Senegal might be the defending champions, but that’s past history. The results will be determined on the pitch,” Noble remarked.

Nigeria’s return to CHAN after missing the last two editions has been marked by encouraging performances, including a 3-2 victory over Sunshine Stars. Noble praised the team’s resilience and hunger, saying, “The boys are determined, full of fight, and ready for success.”

With the tournament now postponed to August 2024, Noble views the delay as a blessing in disguise. The additional time allows the technical team to perfect strategies and address any weaknesses, making the Super Eagles even more dangerous. “With proper preparation, we can handle any opponent,” Noble stated confidently.

Nigeria’s best performance at CHAN came in 2018 when they finished as runners-up, losing to Morocco in the final. However, Noble is certain that the team can go one step further this time around. “Based on how they performed in the qualifiers, I strongly believe we have a real chance to make history in Kenya,” he said.

As the Super Eagles prepare for the tournament, Noble urges fans to show their support, believing that with unity and determination, the team can achieve greatness. “All I can do is wish them the best of luck and hope they succeed,” he concluded.

With the tournament now scheduled for August, the Super Eagles will look to capitalize on the extra time to fine-tune their preparations and chase their first-ever CHAN title.
