Ghanaian forward shines in historic triumph
Yahaya Mohammed, a 20-year-old Ghanaian forward, has added a major milestone to his budding career after helping KF Egnatia secure the Albanian Super Cup title. Egnatia defeated Kukesi 2-0 in a thrilling contest to close out 2024 in spectacular fashion.
The match saw Serxho Ujka fire Egnatia into the lead in the 20th minute, with Soumaila Bakayoko sealing the victory just five minutes from full-time. Mohammed, who joined the Albanian champions last summer from Accra Lions, played a crucial role in the team’s campaign, earning his first piece of silverware since turning professional.
Having already made 13 league appearances for Egnatia, the young forward has contributed a goal and an assist. With three years left on his contract, Mohammed is expected to feature prominently when the league resumes on January 10. Egnatia will face Laci on Friday, and all eyes will be on the Ghanaian prospect as he continues to grow in Albania’s top flight.
