Once burdened by recurring injuries, Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo is now thriving in the Premier League — and he credits his transformation to one key factor: fitness.
This season has marked a turning point for the 24-year-old at Bournemouth. With 35 appearances under his belt, Semenyo has found the back of the net nine times and assisted five more. More than the numbers, though, it’s his energy, confidence, and connection with the fans that have made him a standout figure at the Vitality Stadium.
“Just playing with no fear… being fit, being healthy, being injury-free at some point [has been key],” Semenyo told SuperSport. In past seasons, injuries constantly interrupted his rhythm. But this time around, he’s been able to focus fully on the game — and it shows.
That freedom has turned him into a fan favorite, with the crowd rallying behind him week after week. “Everyone connected with the fans… the fans at Bournemouth are great,” he said, highlighting the mutual respect that has grown over the season.
Despite a recent dip in form — three losses and two draws in their last five matches — Bournemouth remains in the hunt for a historic European qualification. If they are to reach that milestone, Semenyo’s pace, power, and presence up front will be vital.
From battling injuries to leading the charge in a European push, Semenyo’s journey is a testament to resilience — and he’s not done yet.
