Injury Woes Hit Stuttgart as Jamie Leweling Misses Union Berlin Clash

Stuttgart will be without the services of dynamic winger Jamie Leweling this weekend as they prepare to face his former club, Union Berlin — a significant setback for Sebastian Hoeneß’s side as they battle for a top-half finish in the Bundesliga.

Leweling, the German-Ghanaian attacker, has been ruled out of Saturday’s clash due to ongoing muscular issues. The 24-year-old has not returned to full training since picking up the injury during Stuttgart’s 2-1 defeat to Werder Bremen last weekend, a game in which he was forced off and replaced by Fabian Rieder.

Speaking at Friday’s press conference, head coach Hoeneß provided an update: “Jamie will not be involved due to his muscular problems.” While the injury is not considered structural, his recovery hasn’t progressed quickly enough for him to be available for selection.

Leweling has played a consistent role in Stuttgart’s campaign this season, making 23 Bundesliga appearances and contributing two goals and two assists. His absence comes at a crucial time, with just five games remaining and Stuttgart currently in 11th place on 40 points.

Supporters and teammates alike will be hoping for a swift return for Leweling, whose pace and creativity have been instrumental throughout the season. With the race for a strong league finish heating up, his presence could be key to Stuttgart’s final push.
