Black Satellites Land in Ismailia Ready to Soar Past CAR in U-20 AFCON Decider

Ghana’s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites, have touched down in Ismailia with determination in their stride as they prepare for a crucial Group C clash against the Central African Republic in the ongoing 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

The decisive fixture, set for Thursday afternoon at the Suez Canal Stadium, marks a pivotal point in the tournament for the young Ghanaians. After a gutsy 1-0 triumph over defending champions Senegal, morale is high in camp. That victory catapulted them to joint-top of Group C alongside DR Congo, both sides having amassed four points from two matches.

A win against CAR would seal Ghana’s progression to the knockout stage and reignite the nation’s proud tradition in youth football. It would also move the team one step closer to a record-extending fourth U-20 AFCON crown and qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.

Upon arrival, Coach Desmond Ofei and his technical team shifted focus to recovery and fine-tuning tactics. Light training sessions have been scheduled to help players acclimatise, with more intensive preparations planned before the must-win tie.

With momentum on their side and their eyes firmly on the prize, the Black Satellites are aiming to close out the group stage in dominant fashion and remind the continent of Ghana’s rich footballing pedigree.
