Tariq Lamptey to Miss Brighton’s Season Finale Amid Uncertain Future

Ghanaian international Tariq Lamptey will play no part in Brighton & Hove Albion’s final Premier League clash of the season against Tottenham Hotspur, as the right-back has been ruled out due to injury.

The 24-year-old sustained a knee injury during Brighton’s match against Wolves—just weeks after recovering from a foot problem—and was absent from the squad that clinched a thrilling 3-2 victory over Liverpool on Monday. His absence will now extend into the final fixture of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.

Lamptey’s season has been blighted by fitness concerns, limiting him to just 15 Premier League appearances. Despite the setbacks, he managed to score two goals and provide two assists. Across all competitions, he featured 20 times and contributed directly to five goals.

With his contract set to expire in June and no signs of a renewal on the table, the pacey full-back could be on his way out of the Amex Stadium this summer, leaving his future in doubt as transfer speculation looms.
