Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hürzeler has hailed Tariq Lamptey’s commitment after the Ghanaian full-back signed a new one-year deal to remain at the Amex Stadium.
Lamptey, whose future had been the subject of summer transfer speculation, has opted to stay with the Seagulls for the 2025/26 Premier League campaign—news that has delighted both club officials and fans alike.
Hürzeler described the 24-year-old as a crucial piece of Brighton’s puzzle as they look to build momentum heading into the new season.
“We are delighted Tariq is staying with us,” Hürzeler said. “He’s a player who brings pace, energy, and intelligence to our game. He wants to help the team achieve its goals, and that kind of attitude is exactly what we need.”
Lamptey, who arrived from Chelsea in 2020, has become one of Brighton’s most dynamic and versatile wide players. Known for his blistering pace and attacking flair, he made 20 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
In total, Lamptey has now featured 122 times for Brighton, netting five goals and contributing 12 assists—a testament to his enduring impact at the club.
With his future now secured, the Ghana international will be looking to help lead Brighton into another exciting chapter in their Premier League journey.
