Denis Odoi Bids Farewell to Royal Antwerp Citing Personal Reasons

Ghanaian international Denis Odoi has officially parted ways with Belgian giants Royal Antwerp, citing personal reasons for the early termination of his contract. The experienced full-back, who had one year remaining on his two-year deal, reached a mutual agreement with the club to end his stay ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Odoi, 37, made a significant impact during his short time at Bosuilstadion, registering 32 appearances, two goals, and two assists across all competitions. His composure and versatility added value to the squad, contributing to Antwerp’s competitive campaign.

In an emotional farewell message, Odoi expressed heartfelt gratitude to the club, staff, and fans:

> “Personal reasons are the basis for the termination of the contract. I thank the club for understanding and for the trust they had in me. Also, to all the club staff, the coaching team, and my teammates: thank you for the wonderful time I had at the Bosuil. In addition, a special word of thanks to the supporters. From day one, I felt supported. You are fantastic!”

While his next move remains uncertain, whether another chapter in football or retirement, Odoi’s exit closes a memorable spell with the 2022/23 Belgian champions.
