Swedish top-tier side IFK Gothenburg are reportedly preparing to part ways with Ghanaian defender Rockson Yeboah after a difficult spell at the club.
The 21-year-old centre-back, who arrived from Young African Promises FC on a three-year deal in August 2024, has failed to break into the first team and is yet to make a single appearance in the ongoing 2025/26 Allsvenskan season.
Yeboah’s lack of playing time has triggered internal discussions, with Sporting Director Hannes Stiller admitting the situation is far from ideal. Speaking to Göteborgs-Posten, Stiller stated:
> “It’s problematic to be signed and not get to play. It’s not good for anyone. We have to review his situation—especially for his own sake.”
Yeboah, who also spent time at Greek giants AEK Athens earlier in his career, now faces an uncertain future as the Swedish club evaluates options, potentially opening the door for a summer move.
With the transfer window approaching, a fresh start may be the only solution for both parties.
