Real Madrid’s attempt to snap up Ghanaian defensive sensation Oscar Naasei Oppong has hit a roadblock, as Granada firmly rejected the Spanish giants’ opening bid for the 20-year-old centre-back.

Oppong, who has risen rapidly through the ranks at Granada, earned a promotion from the club’s B team this season and has since made six appearances in the Segunda División. His commanding displays at the back have not gone unnoticed, drawing attention from top clubs across Europe—most notably, Real Madrid.

According to reports, Madrid’s scouting team identified Oppong as a long-term prospect and tabled a formal offer, hoping to integrate him initially with their Castilla side while allowing him to train with the senior team.
