Rising star Gideon Kodua says his move to Luton Town was a no-brainer after sealing a season-long loan from West Ham United. The 20-year-old forward, who captained West Ham’s FA Youth Cup-winning side, believes the environment at Luton offers the perfect platform for his development.
“There are good players here, a good manager, and a passionate fanbase — so it was an easy decision,” Kodua told Luton Town’s official website.
The England-born talent, with strong Ghanaian roots, joins the Hatters with an option to make the deal permanent after the 2025/26 campaign. Kodua also reunites with manager Matt Bloomfield, having enjoyed two successful loan spells under him at Wycombe Wanderers.
Bloomfield, delighted to secure the young forward, praised his character and leadership. “Gids is someone I really admire. He’s tough, determined, and versatile — a real fighter on the pitch. Luton fans will love what he brings to the team,” he told BBC 3CR.
Kodua becomes Luton’s eighth addition this summer, as the Hatters gear up for their League One opener at home to AFC Wimbledon on August 1st.
