Ghanaian-Italian defender Claud Adjapong has embarked on a new chapter in his football journey after signing for Serie C side Potenza Calcio. The 27-year-old right-back penned a two-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2027, arriving as a free agent following his departure from Ascoli Calcio at the end of the 2024/25 season.
Adjapong’s addition is seen as a major boost for Potenza, who are strengthening their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign. His arrival brings vast experience, having featured in Serie A with Sassuolo and enjoyed spells with Reggina, Lecce, and Modena across various Italian divisions.
“Potenza Calcio announces it has secured the services of Claud Adjapong until June 30, 2027. Welcome Claud to the red and blue family,” the club announced via its official channels.
Born in Modena to Ghanaian parents, Adjapong previously represented Italy at U19, U20, and U21 levels but remains eligible to play for Ghana’s senior national team. With his move to Potenza, he will be aiming to regain top form, possibly reigniting discussions around an international switch to the Black Stars.
Potenza hopes the defender’s leadership and versatility will play a crucial role as they chase success in Serie C.
