GFA Expands Youth Football Calendar, Introduces New Competitions for Boys and Girls

In a bid to deepen youth football development, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially extended its offseason Youth Football Timeline, pushing the calendar through to November 2025. The move is geared towards enhancing grassroots participation and strengthening developmental pathways for young footballers nationwide.

Initially scheduled to end in October, the expanded programme will now run from August to November 2025, with all matches hosted at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

Operating under the inspiring theme “Power to the Youth”, the action kicks off with the Elite U15 Boys Colts Championship from August 25th to 31st, maintaining GFA’s dedication to nurturing young male talent.

The prestigious KGL U17 Colts Boys Inter-Regional Championship, originally set for early August, is now scheduled for September 19th to 28th, bringing together the finest U17 prospects from all 16 regions.

October will highlight the girls’ game with back-to-back competitions—starting with the Elite U15 Girls Inter-Regional Championship from October 5th to 11th, and for the first time, the Elite U17 Girls Colts Championship from October 14th to 19th.

Capping off the extended timeline, the GFA introduces the maiden Second Division Elite U19 Championship, set for October 23rd to November 2nd, exclusively featuring players from regional second division teams.

This revamped calendar solidifies GFA’s commitment to youth empowerment, gender inclusivity, and year-round football engagement.
