Achraf Hakimi Could Face 15-Year Sentence Amid Rape Allegations

Prosecutors push for trial as football star claims blackmail and setup

Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi is at the center of a legal storm as French prosecutors seek to formally indict him on rape charges, potentially exposing him to a sentence of up to 15 years in prison.

The case stems from an incident in February 2023, when the Moroccan international was accused of sexually assaulting a young woman at his home. While Hakimi has consistently denied the allegations, he claims the situation was a calculated attempt to extort money.

“They wanted to blackmail me, and that’s why we filed a complaint,” Hakimi stated in an earlier interview. “It’s going well. The justice system handled things rather well.”

Despite the severity of the allegations, PSG has stood by their player throughout the investigation. Now, the Nanterre prosecutor’s office has formally requested that the case be brought before the Hauts-de-Seine departmental criminal court, advancing the possibility of a full trial.

⚖️ Legal proceedings are ongoing, and no verdict has been reached. Hakimi remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.
