Hot FM sports presenter, Ebenezer Amuzu, has waded into Ghana’s squad selection debate ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, insisting that Hearts of Oak defender Osei Asibey has done enough to merit a place in Otto Addo’s team.
The Black Stars coach recently unveiled his squad for the crucial clashes against Chad and Mali, with familiar faces like Mohammed Salisu of AS Monaco and Alexander Djiku included. However, the absence of in-form Osei Asibey has sparked debate among local football enthusiasts.
On his Hot Focal Sports show, Amuzu did not mince words, boldly declaring that Asibey is in better form than both Salisu and Djiku.
> “Looking at the Black Stars squad, Osei Asibey should have been included. He is far better than Salisu and Djiku currently,” Amuzu emphasized.
The Black Stars sit at the top of Group I with 15 points from six matches (five wins and one defeat) and will look to extend their lead when they face Chad at the Stade Olympique Marechal Idriss Deny Itno on Thursday, September 4, before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8, 2025.
