GoldStars Embark on Crucial Trip to Algeria for CAF Champions League Decider

Ghanaian champions Bibiani GoldStars have departed for Algeria as they gear up for a make-or-break CAF Champions League Second Round, Leg 2 clash against North African powerhouse JS Kabylie this Sunday.

The Miners, featuring in the competition for the very first time, face a daunting task after falling 2-0 at home in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium. Despite showing fight and determination in front of their fans, defensive errors proved costly, leaving their continental dream hanging by a thread.

The club’s delegation — comprising players, technical staff, and management — left Ghana on Thursday morning aboard Turkish Airlines. Their journey takes them through Istanbul before connecting to Algiers.

GoldStars are traveling in two batches: the first group departed on Thursday, while the second contingent is expected to link up with them in Istanbul on Friday.

With their maiden CAF Champions League campaign at stake, the Miners will need nothing short of a remarkable turnaround to progress against their seasoned Algerian opponents.
