‘Injuries Stopped Me at Man City, But This Is My Second Chance’ – Aminu Mohammed

Bechem United’s latest signing, Aminu Mohammed, has opened up on how injuries derailed his once-promising career at English giants Manchester City.

The 24-year-old forward, who rose to fame with WAFA and later earned a move abroad, says he is determined to rediscover his best form after putting pen to paper with the Hunters ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

Although details of his deal remain undisclosed, Mohammed joined as a free agent after stints in Austria, England, the Netherlands and Belgium. He has been training with Bechem in recent weeks and impressed the technical team during pre-season.

Reflecting on his time at Manchester City, Mohammed admitted that injuries became his biggest obstacle.

> “There’s a big difference in the pitch, the weather and the trainings. Adapting there wasn’t easy. I was always training with the first team and injuries also became my nightmare,” he revealed.

Now back home in Ghana, Mohammed insists this new chapter is a lifeline he must cherish.

> “It’s like a second chance for me, and I have to grab it. I have to hold it like an egg. I can’t let it slip again. Sometimes I see comments that I’ve wasted my talent or don’t respect the game, but those people don’t even know me. It motivates me.”

Bechem United, who finished 10th last season, are hopeful his addition will inject much-needed firepower as they target a stronger campaign in both the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup.

Mohammed was part of Ghana’s Black Starlets squad that reached the quarter-finals of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India, a tournament that first showcased his exciting potential.
