🇳🇬🔥 Osimhen Shifts Focus to Super Eagles After Galatasaray Defeat — “Now I Focus on My Country”

After a disappointing night in the Turkish Super Lig, Victor Osimhen has already turned the page — and his sights — toward helping Nigeria secure a ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Nigerian striker was in action as Galatasaray suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Kocaelispor on Sunday. Dan Agyei’s first-half strike sealed the win for the visitors, while Osimhen’s late equaliser was ruled out by VAR for offside against Gabriel Sara.

Despite the frustration, the Super Eagles talisman didn’t dwell on the loss. Speaking after the game, Osimhen made his next mission clear:

> “I have to travel. The game has happened, it has happened. I have moved on from that. Now I focus on my national team.”

With his trademark determination, the 25-year-old is eager to lead the charge as Nigeria face Gabon in the World Cup playoff this Thursday in Rabat, Morocco — a crucial step toward redemption after missing out on Qatar 2022.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles camp is buzzing with activity. By Sunday night, eight players — Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, and William Troost-Ekong — had already checked in, with more arrivals expected as preparations intensify.

Osimhen is now set to join the squad, ready to inspire the Eagles in their quest for World Cup glory.
