The stage is set, and the reigning queens are ready to defend their throne! Head coach Charles Sampson has unveiled a strong 20-member Black Princesses squad for the upcoming 2025 WAFU B U-20 Girls Cup, scheduled to take place in Benin from November 7 to 12, 2025.
The team boasts an exciting blend of youth and experience, led by Dreamz Ladies’ trio — Sarah Nyarko, Ivy Owusu Osei, and Precious Asante — who bring leadership and flair to the side. They’ll be joined by Black Queens-capped forward Mary Amponsah, whose international experience adds firepower to the squad.
Also earning call-ups are Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ dependable trio — Aishetu Awinimi, Diana Amoako, and Linda Owusu Ansah, alongside in-form Agnes Yeboah of Jonina Ladies, who recently bagged a brace in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League opener. Rubby Osei of Hasaacas Ladies rounds off a well-balanced roster eager to make Ghana proud.
This year’s competition will take an all-play-all format, featuring Benin (hosts) and Nigeria, after Niger pulled out.
As defending champions — having lifted the maiden trophy in Kumasi in 2023 — the Black Princesses will look to once again dominate the sub-region and reaffirm their supremacy in women’s youth football.
