Gabon have sounded a loud warning ahead of their decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup African playoff clash with Nigeria’s Super Eagles, unveiling a formidable 27-man squad brimming with experience and attacking firepower.
At a press briefing in Libreville on Thursday, head coach Thierry Mouyouma announced his final list for the must-win encounter, set to take place at the C.S. Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
Leading the line for Les Panthères is none other than their iconic captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the 36-year-old Marseille striker who continues to inspire both on and off the pitch. He’ll be joined by Denis Bouanga, Gabon’s top scorer during the qualifiers with eight goals, as well as midfield enforcer Mario Lemina and his younger brother Noha Lemina.
The stakes couldn’t be higher — the winner between Gabon and Nigeria will advance to face the victor of Cameroon vs DR Congo in the next playoff round, with a coveted World Cup ticket on the line.
