Bayer Leverkusen have moved swiftly to secure one of Europe’s emerging talents. The German club has activated the €5 million release clause for Christian Kofane, making the transfer effectively a done deal.
Kofane completed his medical earlier today and will put pen to paper on a contract that runs until 2029.
Interestingly, the current plan is not for the young midfielder to move immediately to the BayArena. Instead, he is expected to remain within Erik ten Hag’s squad for now, allowing him continued development under the Dutch manager’s guidance.
This strategic move ensures Leverkusen lock down a promising asset for the future while giving Kofane valuable playing experience at the highest level.
