From Ghana to Denmark: John Batigi’s Remarkable Rise Continues with AC Horsens Move

Ghanaian wonderkid John Batigi’s football journey is gathering serious momentum, with the 18-year-old forward sealing an exciting four-year deal with Danish outfit AC Horsens.

Batigi, one of the brightest young prospects emerging from Ghana, is set to take on a new challenge in Denmark after a whirlwind year that’s seen his stock rise rapidly across Europe.

Having made his mark in Ghana’s vibrant youth system—particularly with standout performances for the national U17 team—Batigi embarked on an ambitious European adventure.

A short but explosive spell with Armenian top-flight side FC Van during the 2024-25 season proved a key turning point. In just 17 appearances, the teenage attacker scored seven goals and provided one assist, turning heads with his raw pace, sharp finishing, and relentless energy.

Those performances earned him a move to Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv, where he continued to develop and caught the eye of scouts from across the continent.

Now, AC Horsens—renowned for nurturing young talent—have swooped in to secure Batigi’s services. The Danish club sees the Ghanaian starlet as a crucial piece in their attacking puzzle as they aim for promotion back to the Superliga.

With an official unveiling expected in the coming days, the next chapter in Batigi’s remarkable rise is set to begin—one that could see him become the latest Ghanaian export to shine on the European stage.
