Italian Club Como 1907’s Young Stars Touch Down in Ghana for Heartwarming Charity Mission

Players from Italian Serie A side Como 1907 have landed in Ghana as part of a special charity initiative aimed at empowering underprivileged children through football.

A group of seven players from Como’s Primavera (youth) team arrived at Kotoka International Airport on Monday to a warm reception. The visit is in partnership with the Sports Creates Memories association, which has been working across Africa to promote social and cultural inclusion through sport.

The week-long programme will see the young Italian footballers engage with local children in Accra, coaching them in football and sharing invaluable life skills. The project underscores the power of football as a unifying force and a tool for social change.

“Como 1907 has strong ties with the local community and beyond. This time, the club’s commitment to community has brought us to Accra, Ghana,” the club shared in a statement.

“In collaboration with Sports Creates Memories, our Primavera players will embark on a unique journey — coaching local children, sharing their passion for football, and contributing to a project of great social and human value.”

Como 1907, coached by former Arsenal and Spain star Cesc Fàbregas, enjoyed a memorable campaign in Serie A, finishing 10th in the league standings. The club’s off-the-pitch efforts, such as this charity visit, continue to enhance its reputation as a football institution committed to making a positive global impact.
