Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah may be a new face in the Black Queens squad, but the 29-year-old winger has set her sights on making history. Born in England, the experienced attacker has finally donned the Ghana jersey—and she’s not just here to make up the numbers.
After making her debut for the Ghana women’s national team earlier this year, Boye-Hlorkah is already dreaming big ahead of the 2025 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). For her, wearing the Black Queens jersey means much more than personal pride—it’s a platform to inspire and lead.
“For me, straight away, my first thought was obviously to represent and to make Ghana be spoken about in a very, very good light in women’s football,” she said in a passionate interview. “My goals and aspirations are to represent, win as many games as we can, and hopefully become a legend for the Ghana Women.”
The winger, who has built her career in European football, also hopes her journey will pave the way for young players—especially those in the diaspora—who dream of representing Ghana.
“Someone that people can look up to. The younger generation can see my route through European football and they can also see that, as well as representing Ghana at the national level,” she added.
With her eyes firmly set on success, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah is expected to be part of the Black Queens’ final squad for WAFCON 2025. And as the team prepares for the continental showdown, her hunger to bring glory to Ghana could prove to be a key weapon in their title chase.
