David Hickson Gyedu marked a milestone moment on Sunday as he scored his first goal of the 2025 Eliteserien season in KFUM Oslo’s stunning 5-0 demolition of Strømsgodset at KFUM Arena.
The Norwegian-Ghanaian midfielder was at the heart of an inspired second-half performance, breaking the deadlock in the 53rd minute. Latching onto a well-weighted pass from Jonas Hjorth, Gyedu showed great composure to slot the ball home from close range, igniting celebrations among the home fans and setting the stage for a dominant display.
Obilor Okeke followed up with a quickfire brace in the 59th and 82nd minutes, while the provider-turned-scorer Hjorth added his name to the scoresheet with a neat finish in the 69th. Teodor Haltvik capped off the emphatic rout deep into stoppage time, rounding off a landmark afternoon for the Oslo-based side.
Gyedu, who played 78 minutes, stood out for his tireless work rate and control in midfield, helping KFUM secure their first-ever victory over Strømsgodset — and in remarkable fashion.
The win propels KFUM higher up the league standings and gives them momentum heading into their upcoming Norwegian Cup clash against Lillestrøm on June 25.
