Kwara United are leaving no stone unturned as they prepare for a must-win second leg against Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round.
The Harmony Boys suffered a 4-3 defeat in a thrilling first-leg encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday, but the tie remains finely balanced. A 1-0 victory at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta on Sunday would be enough to see the Nigerian side advance to the next round on away goals.
Head coach and his technical team have scheduled another intensive training session on Thursday, with the squad expected to travel to Abeokuta on Friday to acclimatize and finalize their game plan for the crucial clash.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s other representative, Abia Warriors, also face a decisive outing. They will take on Mali’s Djoliba in Bamako on Sunday, following a 1-1 draw in the first leg under the guidance of coach Imama Amapakabo.
With continental pride and progression at stake, both Nigerian clubs are gearing up for what promises to be an electrifying weekend of football.
